The implementation for the requirement of CPD units for renewal of PRC ID will only be implemented by March 2017. However, majority of professionals around the country are still wondering on how to earn CPD units for the renewal of their PRC license.

I am supposed to renew this year by September. If I renew before the June implementation, do I still have to get the units? This is for Professional Teacher. In the past I just renewed my license without takunh any units. Thank you.
Good day Ma’am Vivian. The full implementation of CPD will actually be as early as March 2017 so it would be advisable for you to renew your license as early as February this year so you won’t be covered by the first full implementation of CPD Act.

Good day po Ma’am, usually (based on experience) pag more than a year pa bago ang expiration ng inyong license ay di po inaallow ng online renewal system ang setting ng appointment. I could be wrong din po pero yan ang naexperience ng ilan sa aking mga kaibigan. Your best option po is to personally visit the PRC office and try to renew through the manual processing po which is mabilis na rin naman po as compared before.

Yes Sir, but as far as I know po, you can only use your units from your MA or doctor’s degree ONLY ONCE during the compliance period. But let’s wait for the IRR of the CPD Act which should be released this coming March.

How about us OFWs? We work out of the country for how many years…does it mean that we can’t renew our license?
I don’t think that is feasible for OFWs like me as first of, we have different programs all over the world and another things is, we don’t wanna have a vacation just to attend a seminar to complete 120units? That’s absurd!

What abt us OFW? We earned a CME here in compliance to our license here in abroad. Can the PRC validate this in equivalent to CPD. Most of us doesnt stay long during our vacation in the Philippines, if PRC demands us to earned CPD units just to renew our phil.license

Jullian, it has been in place back in the ’90s and was cancelled soon after. With constant influx of new information, I think it is a good idea to keep the skills of our professionals up to date and requiring CPE units would compel them to keep up.

Uo nga nman, unfair tsaka paano yung school nurses?? Tska minimum lang din sinasahod nmin, di nman lhat sumasahod ng malaki… haisst doble pahirap toh para sa lhat ng prof..
I agree. The professionals especially in the government service are already required to have continuous education and then PRC decided agreed to have this new scheme. Who will scrutinize or evaluate the certificates to be presented? If the PRC office won’t have dedicated units for these, then obviously, this will just be an avenue for another means of corruption.
Earning 45 CU is quite hard especially for us who are not fully supported by the employer. Paano naman ang mga empleyado na hindi nman basta2 pinapadala s mga seminars, least avenue or chance to be speakers (prosimity reasons?), baka nman considerable na ang 1-3 seminars a year. At least we keep on track with our profession’s trend.

Question po, sana someone will answer,,,I passed the LET exam way back 2006 in the province…then last 2014 I went to PRC Manila branch, they told me that someone need to go in the PRC where I was registered and send a particular document so that I can process it in Manila branch.. up to now di na po ako nakabalik sa PRC, madami po ngsasabi na magreretake ako kasi sobrang tagal ko na di naprocess un id ko,,,may iba din po na di na daw ako mgreretake malaking amount daw ang mababayaran ko for the penalty…so saan po sa dalawa ang totoo???

Yes, as far as I know, you can use that ONCE for the compliance period but after using your units, you need to earn another number of units required for your profession on your next renewal. I’m a phdn grad in 2013 but my prc id expired last 2015..can i use my diploma to renew my license instead of cpd units?, i dont have work since 2012 and i find it really annoying to have cpd units first before renewing my license since i dont have work right now…sad but prc never did anything to help licensed nurses deal with unemployment in the phil.
sir correct me if im wrong as of this time ay wala pa pong ipinalalabas na irr nakahold po ito kc nga may usapan ang deped, prc at ACT about this so since naka hold papo, wala pa pong implementation na magaganap kasi nga hindi pa napapa finalize ung irr.

sir DepEd Forum, paano kaya kung im taking up my doctors degree tapos ipacredit ko yung masters ko MaEd, di ba once lang pwede gamitin, e di ang next na pwede ko ipacredit yung tinatapos kong doctoral degree,, after ko po ipacredit ang doctor degree ko,, need pa rin ba na mag aral ako ng iba pang doctoral course para sa next application for renewal? as i know sir, dapat related dapat sa professional mo ang inaaral mo,, siguro mag take naman ng PhD? then pag nagamit mo na iba naman ang aaralin ganun ba hanggang sa di na inline sa tinapos mo?

Hindi ko pinapractice yung license ko for my work, what if hindi mo nacomplete yung required na 45 CPD units within 3 years before the renewal, may chance ka pa ba na makapagrenew ng license mo the following year or wala na? Thanks.

Anti OFW nanaman itong batas na ito hindi muna pinag aralang mabuti ang komplikasyon bago ipinatupad. Ang masama pa nito walang exemptions kahit na more than 30 years work experienced kana sa work need mopa rin dumaan sa tinatawag nilang trainings. Para sakin pera pera ito kc ang best training is nasa field o work experience. Mas advantage ito sa mga baguhang engineers cguro pero sa mga matagal na sa trabaho, ewan ko lang baka mas magaling pa mga trainees kesa sa trainor.
I renew my librarian licence on line and it was approved and I paid 810 pesos and it is scheduled to release . on july 7 and when personally went to PRC told me to have a CPD units. At least 43,000 Filipino professionals have signed an online petition that aims to revisit the requirements for renewing their licenses under Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Act, which took effect last March.
Junven Lavapie, a 23-year-old civil engineer, told the Inquirer that he created the petition on Change.org because he found the operational guidelines of the CPD Act (Republic Act No.10912) “seemingly unfair” for professionals.

I went to the only accredited school that can give cpd units here in our place and even the people there do not know how I can earn a cpd unit. I was there last Saturday because the PRC personnels said I should get a certification of CPD units. But nobody can even help me there. I tried calling and sending an email to the contact person but there was no reply. How can I renew my license if nobody can even help in letting us know the process and how to get CPD units? Can we file an abolishment proposal of this cpd units? How and where? Pahirap siya sa mga prpfessionals. Ok lang sana yan kung hindi practicing pero I don’t think this is necessary to those who are already working and using their profession kasi regular naman ang training. May nagsabi pa sa akin na ang 2 years ko na masters wherein I have already earned 36 units and passed the comprehensive exam (thesis na lang ang kulang) can only get 2 to 3 cpd units..sobrang kalokohan na talaga ang cpd units na ito..sana naman ma abolish na ito..doble gastos pa at pahirap ang pgkuha ng cpd units and people in PRC are not helpful. They do not even care basta they will just ask for you cpd units. They cannot even give you a form anymore kasi dapat online. Mas mabuti pa ang dating system kasi mas madali at convenient. Ngayon masyadong calbaryo ang pagdadaanan bago mkarenew ng license.

Ako po ay isang guro sa public school dito sa probinsya ng Bukidnon…I supposed to renew my license on February 22, 2018…hanggang ngayon di ko pa na renew ang license ko dahil maraming tanong ang nasa isip ko, Mag retire na po ako sa susunod na taon, Feb. 22, 2019. Wala na akong mga certificate dahil walang na akong seminar and workshop, di na po ako pinadala dahil retirable na ako. Please guide me….Thank you.
What if I have MA (46 units) only thesis is needed and other seminars which are not under CPD and currently practicing my profession, will they not allow me from renewing my license as a Professional teacher?
What about if one is still earning units for post-graduate degree yet di pa tapos dahil on-going pa yung study niya but was able to earn 30 units. Will that be honored r counted too?
