Since I have written the article on How to Earn CPD Units for PRC License Renewal, I have received countless messages and comments regarding the CPD Units for OFWs and Other Filipinos Abroad. With that, I personally went to PRC Office and asked them about this matter. Here are their answers on how OFWs and other Filipinos abroad can earn CPD units.
CPD Units for OFWs and Other Filipinos Abroad
According to PRC, Filipino professionals working or living abroad can still earn CPD units through the following:
- PROFESSIONAL TRACK (Training offered by accredited CPD Providers, Face to Face or Online)
- ACADEMIC TRACK (Professionals who took master’s degree and doctorate degree can use their earned academic units for license renewal although their units shall only be credited once during the compliance period.)
- SELF-DIRECTED (Training Offered by Non-Accredited CPD Providers, Face to Face or Online)
- Such other activities to be recommended by the CPD Council and approved by the Board and the Commission

Question: Are my trainings and seminars here in abroad can be credited?
Answer: As long as the school/institution where you have undergone your training is an accredited CPD provider, then that should be credited as CPD units. This is just my assumption, let’s still wait for the Implementing Rules and Guidelines of CPD to be published.

Thanks for the info sir! But regarding online CPD, I don’t think we can get the list of participants.. hindi naman sabay sabay online yung mga kumukuha ng CPD, paano po iyon?
Also, paano po ang CPD kung dalawa po ang PRC license? Like Medicine (physician) and MedTech? Do I still have to take CPD for those two licenses separately or pwede ba yung CPD ko for physician iyon narin ang gagamitin for my medtech license?

How many CME units are equivalent to 45 CPD units?
Hello. I teach abroad and I’m supposed to renew my teaching license next year. I had a one-month online training from the International Baccalaureate Organization. What will happen to my renewal if the said institution is not part of the approved CPD provider? Thanks.
