DepEd Warns Public Against Scammers
Recently, DepEd released a statement warning the public of a person who introduces himself as Education Secretary Br. Armin A. Luistro. This person is suspected to be a scammer and intends to use the name of the secretary for personal gains. Here’s the official statement from DepEd.
The Department of Education (DepEd) is reiterating its call to the public to be cautious against people who are using the name/s of DepEd officials to solicit monetary gain or any favor.
Education Secretary Br. Armin A. Luistro FSC is warning the public regarding a person introducing himself as the Secretary and soliciting donations for alleged DepEd projects and activities.
DepEd has received various reports from the field saying that the person claiming to be Luistro is calling DepEd field personnel to ask for the details of education partners and contractors for solicitation purposes. The person is using the numbers: 0977-797-6819 and 0977-797-6818.
DepEd calls on anyone who has received a phone call with the similar modus operandi to report details to its action center through telephone numbers 636-1663 and 633-1942.
