LET Passers Can Now Affix Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT) to Their Names

LET passers can now affix Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT) to their names. This is according to a Facebook post by Mangaldan, Pangasinan municipal councilor Aldrin Soriano.

“Board for Professional Teachers of the Professional Regulation Commission Vice President Dr. Paz Lucido said during the oathtaking ceremony of new professional teachers earlier today that the Board passed a resolution that the honorary title of professional teachers is now Licensed Professional Teachers or LPT. They can append such title after their name. Dr. Lucido meanwhile reminded that persons who have not passed the licensure examination for teachers but have used such title, shall be charged with a penalty.”

Whether you are a fresh LET passer or one who passed the exam previously, you can now proudly write your name with its corresponding professional designation as – Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT). Cheers to that!

Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT)

Have you ever wondered why doctors, nurses, and even accountants have their respective professional designations affixed to their names such as MD, RN, CPA? Well, me too. There were times when I and my friends who are also LET passers talked about the proper initials to be added on our names should the PRC release a resolution regarding this matter. Professional Teacher (PT)? Certified Public Teacher (CPT)? Think no more!

  1. Nice appreciation to all LET passers and most especially to those who are in service..at last we were given a huge recognition to our profession..I can even use this in my tomb when im dead..just like other profession..hahaha 🙂

      • Sa post po ni Sir Aldrin passed a resolution po..but it was not said nga approved na.. our school would like to know if legit po ba itong post na pwde na gamitin sa names namin ung LPT..kc kung oo, maari bang e post ninyo ung memorandum regarding this announcement? Mahirap kc na gamitin namin ung LPT nang hindi pa tlga sure..mas maganda kc makita ung memorandum kesa sa verbal lng na announcement..thanks po

  2. That’s what I argued to my school head. I even asked her why other professional have affix in their names wherein we are the one who molded them, they can’t become a doctor or engineer without us. Yes, we are recognized!

    • It’s more likely that they will also be covered by the resolution once the PRC releases it as the passers of the previous LETs are also entitled to affix LPTs into their names.

  3. I have been thinking of what to write after my name. We really deserve this. Thank you! Salute to all the teachers!

  4. How about us who already professional teachers that is working abroad? How can we renew our licensed if we are here outside of Philippines. We are working in school also.

  5. Finally! We’ve been discussing this many times during our PAFTE conferences and here it is. Thanks for sharing this information.

  6. Hello just wanna know up to what extent we lisence teachers can affix LPT? Is it only for educ purposes or even beyond that? For instance let’s say applying for legal docs? Should we always affix LPT? For as long as it is for formal stuff? Pls enlighten me hahah thanks

    • Good day Ma’am Lora. If you have earned a post graduate degree, say, MA or a Ph.D. degree, you don’t need to affix LPT anymore otherwise, you may opt to use LPT at your own discretion or in any formal document you process since PRC already announce it during the oath taking of the September 2016 LET passers.

  7. In our school, our principal won’t allow us to affix LPT on after our names. Kainis. Binalik sa akin yung re- application ko. Ano raw yung LPT? KALOKA!

  8. I am so happy to know such a resolution since I was a PBET passer, but here’s one thing I would like them to resolute also…3 years renewal should be removed or if it hurts the PRC in terms of monetary income just move to increase the expiration from 3 years to 10 years, I guess 10 years is good enough for the LPT to enjoy the benefits of passing that examination before renewing …

  9. Can we really use the LPT na Sir? Kasi as an Acadamic Head of our school, I would be very proud kung may LPT na naka-affix sa aking name.

  10. How about if a teacher was a MAED graduate, could she/he affixed that title after his/her name in any of her school doc.. like teacher’s program, etc.? In one case, a teacher affixed like this, for ex., Maria Masipag, MAED, maraminag react. Mali ba
